Rafe started his career in the music business in the summer of 1975 when he joined De Lane Lea / C.T.S studios at the age of 17 years old as a trainee tape operator and Assistant. He worked for the next few years learning all about different aspects of recording and microphone technique from orchestras to four piece bands.
In 1977 he started engineering bands who came in to do demos and by 1978 was a fully fledged engineer.
In 1980 Rafe moved to Marcus recording studios as one of the chief engineers until 1982 when he became freelance.
From 1982 worked at almost all of the major London studios and residential locations and worked extensively in New York,Los Angeles,San Francisco and Memphis. Also worked extensively in Holland,Germany,Denmark,Portugal,Spain and France.
These days working more from home using Pro Tools and Logic Pro but still like to get in the studio.
